Halloween is coming up and I wanted to share with you a few things I’ve made in the past.
I love making things for my son’s classmates for their treats bag. Last year I made these mini pumpkins and they were a huge hit! They do take a bit of time, about 30-45 mins depending on how quickly you can hook. But if you start early, it is quite easy! You can find the simple tutorial on my youtube channel.
I did a few projects for our friends at Hobium Yarns for Halloween. I made a lovely treats bag as well as a treats basket for candy. Please click on the links for the pattern for free download!
This year I’ve been trying something new. I am needle felting! I’m making little ghosts to give the kids this year. All the materials can be found on Hobium Yarns as well!
I hope that you have a safe and healthy Halloween season. ❤
Hi friends! It’s been a while. 😅
These are the books my son and I have finished this summer. They were all such fun reads and we had a blast and flew through them all.
Some are comics, some are info books on Pokémon and others are Middle Grade Chapter Books!
I highly recommend them all.
Girl Giant and The Monkey King is an amazing adventure with familiar Asian characters! A story about being different and wanting to fit in.
The Day I got Erased was such a great book as well. We were sad, laughing hysterically and there were real moments where our son tried to solve how and why Maxwell was erased.
Have you or your kids read any of these? If not, give them a try! ❤️
I feel like I need to apologise every time I update a blog entry because… well, I am sorry.
Ideally I’d have time to make videos, patterns, tutorials, keep up with social media and still do my mum dutites and have my own time. But as you know, I can’t do everything. 🙂
So I sneak in a bit here and there to let you know this blog is still…. half alive.
I’ve been working with my friends at Hobium Yarns to bring a series called “Hook and Chat” to both our Youtube channels. We are already on week seven on it and had I planned it through, I would have let you know 7 weeks ago. haha!
The idea of Hook and Chat came about one day when I was talking to a lot of friends how isolated we feel. How our friend time went away. So I try to record about 30-40 mins of me working on my works in progress and crochet away while chatting to my camera. Sometimes I have funny stories but other times I’m just at a loss for words. But the point of it is that you’d have a little coffee break with a fellow crafter friend.
I hope it you feel loved and find some comfort in it. I’m trying to upload it once a week and after 10 episodes, I’ll decide whether or not to continue.
You can find the series on my youtube channel by clicking on this link.
Hope you have a wonderful week!
I can’t believe I have neglected this blog so long. I really need to get better about it. I do apologise for that. 🙂
Is anyone still out there reading this? I hope so, I’m sorry. 2020 has been a challenging year and it’s been a real challenge to find time to do everything. I know most of you understand that as well.
I’m just popping in to let you know that my FREE Year of the Ox RUG Tutorial on Youtube and PDF on my friends Hobium Yarns Blog is live. It’s a fun pattern for the Lunar New Year that is coming soon. I hope you can make it for someone you love.
I also have my Year of the Ox amigurumi pattern in all of my shops. (Ravelry, LoveCrafts, Etsy) It has furry yarn that gives it so much personality. It was fun collaborating with my son on that one. 🙂
The uncertainty of things gives me a bit of anxiety – especially the way the world is right now. I hope that you are doing well wherever you might be.
I hope I can keep up blog writing more often. 🙂
ps: I can’t figure the way to edit my posts anymore. New 2021 goals XD
Hello friends. It has been a long while hasn’t it? The COVID-19 pandemic has hit world wide now and we’ve been living it in Hong Kong for so long now.
We are stuck at home but we are doing well. It’s weird because it’s wonderful having so much quality time but feels so restrictive since we can’t go out.
How are you friends? Have you made anything? I have here and there but it’s hard to find time to when my child is home all day. But I’m feeling positive!
I must go again but it’s a check in. I’ve come back to worpesss as the new site I had was too complicated. I hope you are healthy and happy. You can find me on instagram most of the time so see you there!
My dear friends,
It’s hot and humid here and I’m melting. When will fall come?
I’m excited to stock my shop up with more patterns, my son and I have a different shop with physical items you can buy too! I’m hoping to make things and put it there and he sells paintings too. He uses the money he makes for buying books, savings and some to charity.
I have some exciting collaborations and projects coming up so be sure to stay tuned! I also have planned for some free patterns that my son has been loving so much. Mostly things to play indoors since outdoors is impossible to play these days with how bad the weather has been.
How about you? What’s on your hook? 😍
I present to you my latest pattern:
The Chubby Narwhal Pattern!
Let me share with you where my inspiration came from. My son – who is absolutely obsessed with Ben Clanton’s Super Narwhal & Jelly Jolt series. (You need to get this for your kid ASAP. They will LOVE it).
He reads these books obsessively and well, that’s where it came from! I wanted to make my own “chubby” version. I love squishy toys and I wanted something he could cuddle and play with.
Thank you so much to all of my testers who made this in a hurry so I could release the pattern today. I appreciate you all so very much!
I also have my chubby series for those of you that are dipping your feet in amigurumi. I remember the early days of wanting to make my own toys and I felt so overwhelmed. I hope that these patterns encourage you. I am always happy when people reach out to me to let me know their experiences with my patterns. I love getting to know all of you! I’m the most active on instagram, so feel free to say hi, ask questions about the pattern (especially if you get stuck!) and don’t forget to share your pics. 🙂

Hello my friends! I had the pleasure of making Anka from Eleanore & Maurice’s pattern book: Doudous Doux (au crochet & en Liberty).
The book is absolutely beautiful and the characters are charming! While the book is in French, it is very easy to follow. I love making Anka and it is very suitable for intermediate beginners. 😍
Please check out my friends website to order her book. It’s gorgeous and well written! You will fall in love with all her creations. 😘
I’ve been sick (well still) on and off for over a month now. It’s truly the pits but hey, I have some good news!
My Etsy shop is having 15% off all patterns right now till the end of July! Head over to see what I have and please tag me with your pictures! I love making new friends so I really appreciate everyone who has reached out. Xo
